Memories & an Update:
I believe that I was, at the time of graduation, one of the few, if not the only cadet who was a member of the Debating Society and on the Rugby team. To that end, one of my great memories was handing out the first Rugby Debating Award to the individual who partied the hardest during one of the Debating Society Tournaments at RMC. The award was a deflated rugby ball – who said debate society members couldn’t party…..
One of my low’s was the first debating tournament I attended when I learned that all RMC debaters had to enter the public speaking contest at every tournament. Suffice it to say, the first effort was quite embarrassing.
After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, I eventually made my way to Atlanta, GA where I met my wife of 19 years – Tara – and have resided for the past 20 years. I’m currently working at AT&T in the Intellectual Property division where I have responsibility for monetizing the AT&T patent portfolio.
I get back to Nova Scotia every year where I catch up with family and friends and play a little golf. While I miss the ocean, I can’t say that I miss the snow or slush.
