Congratulations to both Billy (a classmate so I am comfortable calling him by his first name) and Dr. Neilson (a prof so he will always be “Dr” to me). However, I wonder if the latter has managed to improve his knowledge of the Maritimes in the past 27 years -wink & nudge, Dr. N.

Nice to see this being taught as an elective. I’m not sure how the CF qualifications may have changed in the past two decades, but I had the privilege of getting qualified as an Unarmed Combat Instructor when I was posted to 1 CMBG. This qualification proved to be a huge asset, as I could thereafter run unarmed combat courses for the troops whenever training schedules permitted.

The bootcamp is a great elective, but I’d also encourage the Athletic Department to see if it can send graduates out to their units bearing the ‘instructor’ qualification.
