Who said – “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” – 2Lt Kayne Carr just days before he leaves for Gagetown has been teaching an old dog, aka Bill Oliver how to do some of the technical side of putting out the e-Veritas. Although the “Old Dog” has not mastered all the tricks he is trying. We still have a long way to go!

Regular readers are asked to bear with us for a few editions! We have a number of great articles In This Issue – Ex cadets should find the three articles from Cadets interesting – in particular, Plans for the New RMC Uniform (What’s Happening Around RMC).

For all of us, this experience [of winning the Great Northern
Concrete Toboggan Race of 2006] reminded us how little the general
public knows about the military and RMC. I was surprised by the
reaction of others when we were in uniform. It was a humble reminder
how the public views our uniformed image apart from our personal one.
We went from being the unknown underdog to the crowd favourite.”

Paladins Win 2 of 3 - Three Games Remaining
Play-offs – First Place Possible

RMC Paladins had one of their most challenging periods in the long history of the team last week during OUA action. Fighting for their play-offs lives, they had to play three games in four nights. Each encounter had tremendous consequences. In the first game, they lost a close 3-2 match against Queen’s; in Toronto they downed a much improved Ryerson team by a 4-1 count. Less than 24 hours they had to return home and compete against a very strong McGill Redmen team and prevailed 2-1. Read the rest of this entry »

Toronto Leadership Dinner
By: M0916 OCdt Greg Fleming

The Annual Leadership Dinner is always eagerly anticipated by the Cadets at RMC. This year was no different as members of the Drum Line and other select cadets boarded the bus for the first leg of the trip. Ably led by Commander Rich, we headed off to HMCS York were we could change into our Sunday best before attending the dinner. This step was done so we could travel in relative comfort which would in turn allow us to be more open to Commander Rich’s professional development efforts as we travelled (which was done, by the way, through examining the different leadership styles present in the excellent film “Zulu!” the 1964 film with Michael Caine and Stanley Baker).
