A BIG thank-you from Bill and Rolande
We wish to pass on a big thank-you to all those who took the time to recognize our 600 Issues of e-Veritas. The comments left with the article last week, plus the many personal e-mails, phone calls and the face-to-face feedback was truly uplifting and very much appreciated by us both.
Editing e-Veritas is a rewarding task, but also time-consuming and at times frustrating.
Most Issues we have a good feel for by the Thursday of the preceding week on what our layout will look like for the next Issue. We say ‘most’ Issues because there are weeks that as late of the Saturday evening that we have come up short.
This is bound to happen when we have so many moving parts and dealing with volunteers who, at times, are unable to deliver as expected.
It is during these periods, that we have to use our experience and use a filler or even fillers.
As much as we would like to ‘give a heads-up’ to the individuals or group that we are featuring with the ‘filler’ – we do not have the luxury of time and circumstances to do so.
We would like to feel that with 600 under our belt that we have earned the credibility that for each and every edition we are doing our very best to produce a relevant and interesting Issue.
Most time we get it right. For the times, we come up short, it wasn’t for lack of trying.
For those readers who wonder – “Why would they even publish this article?” The answer is simple – it was the best we could do under the circumstances. Certainly, a lack of courtesy is not intended. For those who know us are well aware that this is NOT in our DNA.
With the fear of sounding to dramatic, one often needs the “skills of a ringmaster” to come up with the best final layout. Actually, what we have learned and have come to accept is that there is NO correct final layout. The best formula week-after-week is to go with our gut.
Thanks again to the many readers who often provide positive support. For a couple of seniors this means everything.
