I had the unpleasant task of disbanding 401 Squadron when I was Commander of 1 Wing in 1995. In that year we zero manned 1 Wing and disbanded three Squadrons, 401, 450, and 1 TASS. If any unit deserved to be re-activated, it was 401. It has finally happened and the unit has returned to its role that brought it honours in WW II. I hope this edition of 401 enjoys a long existence .
