I refer to the caption “Feature Image from: ‘The Marker’ 21 December 1962” at the beginning of the page “Golden oldies with a Christmas theme over many years”

I have memories of setting up one of the letters in a window of the Frigate in my recruit year, December 1960 – not clear enough though to remember which letter, but perhaps the T. This leads me to wonder whether this decoration was undertaken more that once, or is there an error in the caption?

I think it was a “tradition”, meaning anything done at least twice. My room would have been the M on the right in 1961.
