November 11 marks the day that we honour the service of our men and women in defending Canada and maintaining peace in the world.
Le 11 novembre, nous honorons les femmes et les hommes qui défendent notre pays et qui préservent la paix dans le monde.
Bryan Bailey stepping down as RMC Club, Executive Director
It is with mixed emotions that I made the decision to tender my resignation as ED of the Club late last month which will take effect on 1 March next year. The Club’s Board of Directors has initiated the selection process for a new ED and the details will be communicated next week. You are all encouraged to spread the word to other ex-cadets with a view to obtaining as many applicants as possible.
It certainly has been an honour and privilege to serve as your ED for the better part of four years which has been an exceptionally gratifying and rewarding experience. I have learned a great deal during my tenure and I am most thankful for the support and guidance of the very dedicated and talented Board of Directors and three Club Presidents. Most of all, I have immensely enjoyed the opportunity to interact with our alumni and cadets. As a result, I have developed a much deeper connection with both the Colleges and an enhanced appreciation for the quality and accomplishments of our incredible alumni. Without a doubt, Canada’s military college graduates have played an instrumental role in leading our military and shaping our nation for 140 years.
While the Club has made great strides in implementing the recommendations of its Strategic Review over the past four years, the time is right for a new ED to undertake the challenges of the next bound. The good news is that Jennifer and I will be staying in Kingston and I very much look forward to remaining connected while continuing to support the Club and the two Colleges in the future. TDV/VD
