Carlton Fields’ David W. A. Chee Selected for National Asian Pacific American Bar Association
Leadership Advancement Program
Miami, Fla. – July 15, 2020 – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that litigator David W. A. Chee was selected to participate in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) Leadership Advancement Program (LAP).
The NAPABA’s LAP is a yearlong training targeted at strengthening leadership skills by allowing rising Asian Pacific American attorneys to step into their own leadership style. The program provides participants with an opportunity to foster genuine relationships with peers within the legal profession, especially between law firm attorneys and in-house counsel. This year’s program also will recognize the unprecedented opportunities and challenges that emerged as firms and companies pivot to a new reality.
At Carlton Fields, Chee focuses his practice primarily on complex criminal and civil litigation both in federal and state court, including the handling of appeals. Chee’s areas of concentration include the defense of a wide variety of white collar matters, including fraud and money laundering, forfeitures, government investigations, CFTC and SEC cases, and environmental issues. Chee also relies on his electrical engineering background to craft legal arguments pertaining to technical and complex subject matter.
Chee is a Fellow of The Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Leadership Academy and a board member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida.
He earned his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, and his B.Eng. in electrical engineering from the Royal Military College.
