On Wednesday December 27th, the Vancouver Island Ex-Cadet Club held their Annual Host The Cadets in the ballroom of the recently designated National Historic Site, The Union Club, overlooking the Victoria Inner Harbour.  The flu season cut back the numbers attending, nonetheless there were 42 Ex-cadets and their guests on hand to welcome the cadets.

7454 LCol (Retd) Rick Young, 2ndVP VIECC introduced the Cadets and their invited guest to the luncheon and identified the rich tradition of the RMC Club Branches hosting Cadets At Home over the Christmas Holidays.

The event was orgainzed by 6216 LCol (Retd) Willy Anderson who has done so for over 20 years.

The VIECC looks forward to hosting Cadets in 2018 with the tentative date of December 27th, 2018.

Kingston Branch Luncheon – Wed 10 Jan

Colonel Chris Ayotte

20478 Colonel Chris Ayotte – Director of Cadets is the scheduled guest speaker for the Kingston Branch monthly luncheon at the Senior Staff Mess this coming Wed.

Any Ex Cadets in the Kingston area or passing through town are invited to attend.

Normally the members gather in the SSM bar area between 1130 and 1215 prior to heading into the dining room.

The guest speaker usually starts in the 1300 – 1315 time-frame, in the lounge area. The presentation with questions and answers wraps up by 1400 hours.

The talk from the Director of Cadets promises to be a good one for two reasons; first, he is a very polished speaker and second, Colonel Ayotte is in a position to provide a first-hand account of how the first term went under the many changes implemented as a result of the high profile Special Staff Assistance Visit directed by the Chief of Defence Staff last year.

Dress is Club Blazer and Tie, or equivalent.
