Branches and Classes – We Need Your Help With The Truth, Duty, Valour Campaign

The RMC Foundation launched our Truth, Duty, Valour Campaign in late September 2016 and we received tremendous support in only a few short months.  However, by the end of 2016 we had only raised half of our original campaign goal of $300,000 in support of the Colleges.  Due to the success in such a short period of time our Board of Directors has elected to extend our campaign until Reunion Weekend 2017 in order to give everyone a reasonable opportunity to support the campaign.

We are reaching out to you today as a Class/ Branch leader to help us spread the word on our Campaign and why your support is still needed.  Donations to the TDV Campaign will allow the RMC Foundation to provide flexible funding options to the Colleges in order to support the most important needs of our Future Leaders.  Last year alone the RMC Foundation funded $375,000 of the Colleges financial requests from the TDV Fund. The projects / activities supported by TDV Funding cannot be funded from our current Class Funds, Endowments, or other restricted accounts, and that is why we need your continued support.

Is your class hosting a class function this year?  As a branch are you planning a golf tournament or similar type event?  We are asking that you, as a group consider a dedicated fundraising activity in order to support our TDV Campaign. Feel free to speak to Jennifer Jordan ([email protected]) or myself at the RMC Foundation staff on the ways that your gathering/event can help the TDV Fund and support the Colleges.

Corporation du Fort St Jean provides Generous Donation to RMC Saint-Jean Paris-London Trip

Thanks to a generous donation of $30,000 from the Corporation du Fort Saint-Jean, 12 Officer Cadets from the Royal Military College Saint-Jean will have the pleasure of participating in a study tour in Europe from 24 February to 5 March 2017.

This study tour will allow the Officer Cadets to discover Canada’s two founding cultures while providing additional development of their planning and organizations skills.

The annual Paris-London Trip is the second largest Academic Travel experience the RMC Foundation supports each year, besides the European Battlefield Tour.  With your support to the Truth Duty Valour Fund we will be able to continue to fund worthwhile Academic Travel experiences such as the Paris-London Discovery Trip on an annual basis.

Watch our UTube video from this year’s participants thanking you for your continued support of Academic Travel at RMC Saint-Jean.

No doubt that for all participants, this field trip of merely a week has been an unparalleled source of discovery and development; not only did it allow them to be exposed to the splendours of history and gain precious knowledge from the visits, but also it has given them an essential base for understanding both the history and culture of Canada’s two European founding nations.Dr Marc Imbeault

Truth and Valour as associated with the Canadian Military Establishment have apparently each taken on diminished importance with the embellishment by Defence Minister Sajjan of his role in the 2006 Operation Medusa.
