A stained glass window of Saint Maurice is in the Officer Cadet’s Mess St. Maurice, Royal Military College Saint Jean. In the 3rd century, St. Maurice was the leader of the Roman Theban Legion. A Christian from Thebes, Upper Egypt, St. Maurice believed in serving in a peaceful manner. In the window, he is shown as a knight in full armour, bearing a standard and a palm. The red cross on his breast is the badge of the Sardinian Order of Saint Maurice. He was martyred in Agaunum, Switzerland in 287.

St Maurice is the patron saint of soldiers, swordsmiths, and armies.
