Ex Coelis and back

by 29022 Marks Valtonen

We stepped through the door and fell through the clouds.

As the planes begin to slip from our sight,

the green silk above our heads become shrouds.

They fire at the sky, filling it with light.

It is strangely calm above the earth. Not

a sound but of wind or faint gunfire.

But wait…we are not in the right spot!

We must regroup soon; our mission is dire.

The earth is quickly approaching whilst we

brace ourselves for what comes next: hitting ground.

We cannot fail those who come from the sea,

but we are cautious; there are Krauts all around.

My men advance, and my war ends after

two hours.
