“I was speaking with a client of mine who runs a robotics and artificial intelligence company in Seattle and they are begging for talent and are growing gangbusters. Not sure if there is a way to reach ex-cadets who are on the hunt for this sort of work but as a former US military guy, he loved the idea of having some former Canadian officers as potential additions to his team.”

19957 Todd Hisey (RMC 1995), a 22 year Veteran of the Canadian Army, currently runs Veteran Hunters. “We are a non-profit organization run by Canadian Army Veterans with the mission of finding and funding hunts for Veterans. We have all deployed multiple times on operations and suffer from PTSD,  and other physical injuries. As part of our therapy we find hunting extremely therapeutic. Being with nature and hunting requires you to be in the moment and mindful of your surroundings. It has given us an opportunity for self discovery and a reaffirmation and validation of our skills as soldiers and provides us with a sense of purpose and a real meaning again.”

“Right now I am trying to fund hunts for 16 Veterans this year in Alberta.”

Check out Veteran Hunters on Instagram or Facebook. A GoFundMe page also exists to raise money for the organization.

This is a great profile of the RMC Hockey program and the leaders it produces not only for the Canadian Forces but also corporate Canada. 17793 Bob Auchterlonie and 21206 Jason Boyd are great Canadians, leaders of the Royal Canadian Navy, team mates, and friends. Looking forward to the Rogers Hometown Hockey broadcast from CFB Esquimalt on February 17.

As the Rogers Hometown Hockey visit to CFB Esquimalt approaches, we take a look at the connection between the west coast and one of the Canadian Armed Forces most storied sports’ institutions: the RMC Paladins Athletics / Équipes des Paladins du CMR men’s hockey team.

Rogers Hometown Hockey will be visiting CFB Esquimalt for a two-day celebration of hockey on Feb. 16-17 (www.facebook.com/events/939038572963482). Everyone is welcome!

Chers amis,

Dear friends,

The Quebec Chapter of the Royal Military Colleges Club of Canada held its Gala Dinner on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Club de la Garnison de Québec, a unique and prestigious private club in Quebec City.

Despite the weather conditions and freezing cold temperatures outside we had almost fifty people in attendance. The atmosphere inside was warm and friendly making for a very successful event. It is always a pleasure to meet fellow ex-cadets.

A special thanks to 21642 LCol William Girard, Director of Cadets, RMC-St. Jean, for his dynamic and informative presentation on the activities and future of the college.

I would personally like to thank all those who participated, especially those who came from the Montreal and St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu regions, Ms. Carolyn Hug 16286 RSMCJ Liaison Officer, Mr. Paul Pichette 8348 from Montreal, and Officer Cadets Giguère, Lu, Sekhon and Unger who will be among the first university graduates of RMC-St. Jean.
