Kudos to Leona for putting her name forward and being elected as MP. Well deserved in a close race, and as we have had Lady MPs for ‘awhile’ ie 40 plus years, perhaps it is time for certain media and ourselves to stop calling this ‘pushing the envelop’ and rather consider it normal that an qualified lady can be elected and that we have a Parliament that represents Canada, including First Nations, different cultures, physically challenged et al. Continuing to call this unusual, along with other industries, only plays into the narrative of this is out of place and is entirely frustrating, in a modern Canada for us all, women and men. SJC 16946
