Flashback: The 1980s

The 1980’s were watershed years at RMC with the inclusion of women in the college as well as the termination of the Men’s Varsity Football Team. However, this segment only includes a select number of photos that could be retrieved from the archives including obstacle course photos, and the 1984 trip to Halifax to perform the Old 18.

We will continue our search for photos from this era.

It makes me ill to read the 1980s as another “era”! I graduated in 1985 and I’m still only 48! But seriously, the barman on the right in the picture of the opening of the Air Force room (wearing glasses, but the cadet not the squadron commander) is Mike Vernon. He is right now in Sierra Leone as a military adviser to the government. He’d be a great one for you to track down and interview.

The Squadron Commander(believe it was 6 Sqn) per Comments of John R Graham above is Morris Brause, Class of 1978. I am curious as to why a Patricia would be involved in the opening of AirForce Room???
