1957 not 1958. Exams were over. The Christmas Concert was held in the castle at Royal Roads just before the term break in 1957. Senior and Junior Cadets sat on the stairs; faculty and staff in the main foyer in front of the great fireplace. The “family get-together”, in which all participated, and reception that followed, got us all in the Christmas spirit before we headed home. Members of our class (57-59) participated in one more traditional Royal Roads Christmases before moving on to RMC Kingston for our final two years of study. It was a wonderful time to be a “Roadant” and a cadet in the Canservcol System.
This, just past, Remembrance Day, I went through the Class of 61 nominal roll and remembered all classmates who are no longer with us. With the youngest of our class who recently turned 81 it is easy to realize our ranks are thinning.
To all who enjoyed a traditional Royal Roads Christmas, to our classmates, the widows and widowers, and all who ever wore a pillbox, Merry Christmas to you and all with whom you live and share life.

…and yes, that is I; one of the three not looking at the music charts.
BZ Digger. And I’m wondering who the dude is, on the right side, who preferred his mate’s song sheet to his own …
