Prior to c. 1994, the flag which flew from the top of Mackenzie Building was the College Flag. The Canadian Flag flies at the main mast at the south side of the Parade Square, as that is the senior position in the College. The mast on Mackenzie Building is often mistaken for the senior position.

Indeed I recall (as a frequent Duty Bugler…) that the Canadian Flag was always flown on the mast on the parade square! We had to play a General Salute to put the Ensign up in the morning at sunrise, and then play again to bring the Ensign down at sunset!
