I know the title was “some” of those we lost. Not all, of course. Stewart Wayne Reeder, Deputy Wing Commander, 1963.

Stewart (“Stu”) Wayne Reeder of Henderson, NV passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2018 in Yacolt, WA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Stu was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on December 7th, 1940.
Stu attended the Collège Militaire Royal de Saint-Jean, Quebec and the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario where he graduated with a degree in Engineering Physics in 1963, graduating with Honors and as Deputy Cadet Wing Commander. After serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Stu attended the Harvard Business School, graduating with a Masters of Business Administration in 1968.
Stu was a successful executive and entrepreneur, with multiple executive leadership roles in the food, refrigerated warehousing and shipyard industries. More recently he owned and led a high tech firm focusing on the repair of advanced electronic technologies.
Stu married Ellen Anne (née Purdie) of Pointe Claire, Quebec on June 4th, 1963 in Pointe Claire. He is survived by Ellen and their three children Andrew Reeder, Scott Reeder and Carolyn Reeder MacNaughton, grandchildren Kate, Erin, Will, Matthew, Jack and Charlotte, and brother Rick Morton of Moncton, New Brunswick.
Stu was an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed horseback riding and camping throughout the mountains of the Northwest, as well as hunting and fishing, and spending time with Ellen, his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Stu’s rich and remarkable life will be held at 11am on July 9th, 2018 at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, located at 110 East 12th Street, Vancouver, WA. Interment will take placed at 2pm at the Park Hill Cemetery in Vancouver, WA, following the memorial service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
