The Stone Frigate has been a landmark within the Royal Military College since the latter’s inception in 1876. Countless cadets have roamed its halls, and one couldn’t begin to imagine all the stories held within its walls.

As this building celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, all those with an interest in the Stone Frigate are invited to join the Stone Frigate Association’s Facebook group.

The link can be found here for all those with a Facebook account: https://m.facebook.com/groups/478462226371267?group_view_referrer=profile_browser

The group is open to all former 1 Squadron members, all former inhabitants of the Stone Frigate or any other persons with an interest for this timeless building.

Thank you.

Merci.

Spent my first couple of years in the “Stone Boat”. Being separate from the rest of the wing did give us rookies our own identity. Running the square more than the other squadrons did, snowball fights against the rest of the wing…wadda hoot. One dud in particular who I won’t name, but many good 3rd and 4th years like “Radar” Wilson, Coyle, Brosseau, Brule, Halverson, Wing, Hug and others. Good memories. And good guys in our Rook flight, some of which I still see, 40+ years later. You don’t get that kind of camaraderie at a civy U.
