Virtual Fireside Chat on the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland
Presented by the True Patriot Love Foundation
This May marks the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland and the end of World War II. Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown, True Patriot Love planned on commemorating this occasion by hosting an educational trip to the Netherlands to visit critical battlegrounds and memorials that honour the service and sacrifice of members of Canada’s military during WWII. While the trip has been postponed due the pandemic, we will still mark this important milestone through a Virtual Fireside Chat. True Patriot Love is pleased to invite you to this special interactive discussion, which will take place on May 5, 2020 at 4 p.m. EST. Please register here.
During the discussion you will have the opportunity to hear from Veterans spanning various generations: former Chief of the Defence Staff General (Retired) Rick Hillier, WWII Veteran Captain (Retired) Martin Maxwell and former Invictus Games athlete Corporal (Retired) Kelly Scanlan. They’ll share their unique perspectives on the War and lessons from WWII that can be applied to today’s global crisis. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in advance or live during the chat for an interactive experience.
We hope you’ll join us for what will be an engaging, informative and stimulating discussion as we honour those who served in WWII and pay tribute to the brave individuals of our military who always stand strong for Canada, but who may be facing additional challenges at this time.
