Reunion Weekend Sports – Red & White Results & More

Caption: Wet and cool weather failed to dampen the spirits of the 40+ golfers who supported the 2016 RMC Club golf  tournament which was held Friday morning of the RW. The Championship team comprised mostly from the Class of 1985: (second from the left – Jean-Luc Derome, Paul Roman, David LeClaire (all three from RMC 85) and guest Frank Pinder.

For the second consecutive year,  Jim Simpson – Class of 1970 (photo red cap) was the heart and soul for organizing the tournament. His involvement included but not restricted to encouraging ‘buds’ from various Classes to sign up; Jim also obtained a number of good size sponsors. Standing on the far right is Bryan Bailey, Executive Director of the RMC Club.

For all those returning for 2017 Reunion Weekend please start thinking of putting your foursomes together soon. Proceeds from the tournament go in support of the Club operation.

RMC FUN RUN A SUCCESS

The sixth annual RMC run around Fort Henry on Ex-Cadet Weekend was a success, as 24 runners completed the near-five-km course on Saturday afternoon.

The weather was perfect, and everyone was smiling as they returned to the parade square, with the ex-cadets pleased they could still do the infamous Fort Henry hill.

The group consisted of 14 ex-cadets plus the members of the two present-day RMC cross-country teams.

The Ex-Cadet class of ’76 had the most runners out with five, while the class of ’86 had four; ’66, ’84, ‘01 and ’14 were also represented.

The ex-cadet with the lowest number was 7001 Harry Hamilton, an Old Brigade member from the Class of ‘66. The highest number was 28023 O/Cdt Philippe Desharnais, the one recruit year cadet on the College running team

Afterwards, the group repaired to the Senior Staff Mess for a cool drink and a chance to compare notes on RMC over the years. It was a great way to celebrate the RMC experience.
