The Way It Was…In Photos

Over the next few weeks we plan on posting a number of “oldies but goodies photos” from the past 10 decades & beyond. Most of these photos have little or no captions. We retrieved them from both the Royal Military College of Canada library archives and an old shoe box full of photos laying around Panet House. Some will be easily identifiable but most may only be recognizable by those in the photos. If you can help us out please leave a short comment. Who, When & What was the occasion?

The photo of cadets holding lances contains several familiar faces of which memory recalls only Dave Lawrence on the extreme right of the front rank and Robin Bourne extreme left of line, rear rank. Immediately below, second photo from the left show three intrepid global admirers Fred Aldworth, Andy Morrison and Gerry Baker. Lawrence was a 1950 entry along with Pete Fortier (3210), Garth MacDonald, Colin Campbell and myself (3214) who inhabited the second floor of Lasalle’s #2 Squadron. Robin, from my hometown of Oakville, ON later married Commandant BGen Agnew’s daughter.
