Recent Happenings on the Peninsula
Staff and cadets are all back. Following is a small sample of just some of the activities that we were able to follow. Much more to come over the next few weeks.
Briefings (not just for the Cadets!)
The Class of 2022 weren’t the only ones sitting through various briefings this past week. All new and returning staff, faculty, and post-graduate students endured two days of briefings as well, which were intended to re-familiarize them with the College and the services offered by its various departments. They wrapped things up on Wednesday with a unit BBQ at the Senior Staff Mess.

IV Years – Last “Hoorah” …Or Is It?
The RMC Training Wing staff, Officer / Naval Cadets from CMRSJ (now RMC II years), ALOY students and IV Year officer cadets did a “Dry Run” of the obstacle course last Wed, 29 Aug to test the working order of the obstacles. The purpose of this is to ensure the safety and proper working order of each obstacle. This event also acts as a group-building exercise for all involved and serves as a last “hoorah” for the Fourth Years who will be graduating at the end of the academic year. The actual Obstacle Course by first year officer cadets will take place on Sept 14, as part of RMC Reunion Weekend.

ALOY Students Take Centre Stage!
Congratulations to the members of the Aboriginal Leadership Opportunity Year (ALOY) program who celebrated the completion of their orientation camp at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) on August 31, 2018.
ALOY is a one-year program designed to provide students of Indigenous heritage with individual, group, and cultural experiences that will help build leadership and life skills. It exposes the students to the Canadian military, and helps them develop a variety of skill sets, including accreditation for further post-secondary education.
Congratulations to 28115 (II) Logan Roots who won the 6K men’s race with a course record time of 18:44 this past Saturday, 1 Sep, at Johnstown, NY.
