    Dear e-veritas,

I was surprised to note that the recent passing of MGen James Gardner did not receive much attention.

MGen Gardner was the Staff Adjutant (now Director of Cadets) of RMC when I joined as a recruit in 1962. His tenure at RMC ought to be noted. He took a great interest in the Recruit Class, and I will never forget his lectures on Military Leadership. They remain as relevant today as they were then. A number of staff officers at RMC inspired me during my four years at the college. James Gardner was one of these.
